Great Central Road, from WA to the NT (08-10 October)

After the detour to Yeo we hit the Great Central Road again. It was a long, straight, repetitive drive but there were some features to break up the monotony.

Randomly discovered rock art.

Guy cycling around Australia.

We stopped and had a chat to the fellow, Joong Ho. He had started riding on May 8th, cycling from Surfer’s Paradise to Melbourne, and from there to Perth, via the Great Central Road. At the time we had seen him, he was 200km from his last roadhouse, and 150km to the next. He was getting about 100km a day. Apparently he does better on sealed roads! We left him with some extra water, eating his lunch under a tree.

Other excitements:
 Camels

Signs

Lunar eclipse

I just want to mention that the whole time we were on the Western Australian side of the Great Central Road, we were talking about how corrugated the road was, and how much bulldust was built up on the shoulders. Then we got to the NT. WA doesn't know how good it has it!
